Not every organization that handles health-related information is a HIPAA covered entity. The applicable privacy rules depend on the organization, service, data, and transaction.
1. Visionne retail and optical records
Visionne receives prescription and measurement information to prepare and fulfill optical products. Visionne handles that information under its Privacy Policy, Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, contracts, and applicable law.
2. HIPAA context
Visionne does not represent through this website that Visionne Work. is a HIPAA covered health care provider or health plan. A HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices is issued by a covered entity for the protected health information it controls.
If Visionne acts as a service provider or business associate to a covered entity in a particular arrangement, the contract and applicable HIPAA requirements govern that work. This public notice does not replace those obligations.
3. Licensed-provider records
A licensed provider involved in prescription renewal or another clinical service may be a HIPAA covered entity or may be governed by other health privacy laws. The provider will identify the notice that applies to its clinical records. Contact that provider for access, amendment, restriction, accounting, or complaint rights relating to provider-controlled records.
4. Rights for information held by Visionne
Use Your Privacy Choices to request access, correction, deletion, or another eligible right for information controlled by Visionne. We may need to distinguish Visionne order records from records maintained by a provider.
